Southgate and Pennard Cottages

Located on the south coast of Gower, these 2 villages thrive in community life. With castles, churches, schools, a golf course, restaurant, cafe, beautiful cliff-top walks... the list goes on...

Located 7 miles from the city centre, as the crow flies, are quaint villages of Southgate and Pennard. With its golf club, restaurant, local pub, convenience store, churches and coffee shops, the essentials are all on your doorstep, but it's the cliff top paths and breath-taking scenery that make this part of Gower.

The cliff-top paths offer majestic views over the Bristol Channel and on a clear day the island Lundy and the Devon coastline are easily visible. Walk to the east and the path descends to Pwll Du Bay, a famous location to pirates and smugglers in days gone by but also a great place to visit with the family and is dog-friendly all year round!

to the west are paths that take you to 3 locations the area is known for; Pobbles Beach, Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard Castle.

Pobbles is another of Gower's glorious beaches. You will be greeted by soft sand, high limestone cliffs as well as multiple dunes to play on. At low tide, Pobbles joins Three Cliffs Bay, Tor Bay and Oxwich Bay to creates a 2.5 mile stretch that is a delight to explore (just be mindful of the tide times so you don't get caught).

Southgate and Pennard are another great 'base' from which to explore Gower with Mumbles and the City Centre less than 30 minutes drive, you are not too far from the hustle and bustle of Swansea life.
