Aboard ‘Coastal Explorer’ your trip will travel the Yorkshire coast, one way from Whitby to Scarborough or Scarborough to Whitby. In peak season and weather depending there are four boat trips per day, each with the chance to glimpse the rugged coast as well as whales, dolphins, seals and many seabirds, if you’re lucky!  There is also a two hour wildlife tour from Whitby and back. There is space both inside the boat and outside for extra comfort, max of 12 guests per trip. 

What to expect

Whether travelling from Whitby to Scarborough, or Scarborough to Whitby, on the journey you will have to opportunity to take in the views of the lighthouse at Hawsker, the stunning coastline of Robin Hood’s Bay and Ravenscar, where we slow to catch a glimpse of the seals who are often seen basking on the rocks. Hayburn Wyke, Cloughton Wyke and Burniston Rocks are also part of the journey, as well as the impressive castle on Scarborough’s North Bay and the harbour at the South Bay. 

Each journey takes around 75 mins and costs £25 per adult, £15 for under  12s. £40 per adult for the two hour wildlife trip.

You are welcome to return with us back to your departure location or, for cyclists keen to journey back via the Cinder Track, we welcome bikes on-board. Alternatively, taxis and a bus service operate between Whitby and Scarborough.
