Things to do come rain or shine

Whatever the weather, there are scores of things to do in an area resembling a giant outdoor playground. Miles of coast and countryside for picnics, walking and horse riding, plus dedicated cycle routes.

Centres for archery, falconry, rock and tree climbing offer alternative activities. Learn to fly at Swansea Airport, or ski at Pembrey Country Park near Llanelli.
If golf is your passion, 13 great courses are within a half hour drive-time of Swansea.

Mumbles also has its fair share of leisure amenities. Stroll along the promenade and enjoy amusement arcades, a children’s playground, crazy golf and a good old fashioned Victorian pier.

Well worth the trip and within reach are the theme park at Oakwood and adventure park zoo, Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire.

As to tennis, outdoor and indoor courts can be found at the Swansea Tennis Centre, with more courts available to hire in stunning seafront locations. Another fantastic sports facility is the Wales National Pool with its 50m pool and smaller training pool. Alternatively watch the Ospreys or Swans at the Liberty Stadium.

The Gower Heritage Centre, the National Showcaves Centre of Wales and Margam Country Park, as well as the National Wetlands Centre all have kids’ activity centres. There’s 10 pin bowling in the city centre and two great cinema complexes.

For the ultimate in indoor family entertainment, the LC in the Maritime Quarter is a superb Leisure Complex and Waterpark. More under-cover fun can be had at Plantasia, a botanical garden complete with cute monkeys.
