Reviews

Lilac house is a beautiful cottage, with sea views and a lovely pub restaurant close by. Perfect for a relaxing family holiday.

Mrs S,

Amazing property in a beautiful location, well equipped for dogs and humans. Immaculately clean and so comfortable We all had a really relaxing holiday. Thank you!

Mrs B,

We had a very comfortable stay at Lilac House with 6 adults and two children. There was lots of space for everyone and a lovely garden. Overton is very quiet and it's a fairly short walk down to Port Eynon and several other wonderful beaches are within easy reach. Also recommend the walk down to the cliff path at Overton Mere - look out for the lovely horses

Mr C,

Generally loved the house and garden, location etc - pretty much everything was spot on. Just a couple of minor details - Would have liked a food blender. Also the house was generally very clean, but there were a few bits not cleaned - ie glass under kitchen cabinet, dirty towel hung over one bedroom door hook, one bin not emptied. Just a couple of things vs bins - there were no black bin bags for general waste, and as I think there had been no one in the house the week before the paper/card and glass/metal recycling hadn’t been put out and was all over full.

Mr Philip B,

We had a lovely week at the cottage but a few t there were a few things we were not happy with / disappointed with . There were no locks on the shared bathroom doors which was difficult with 4 different families sharing . The bath toweld were a skimpy size and we could have done with a few extra towels for the whole week plus we only had 1 bath mat and there were 2 bathrooms. The amount of toilet rolls provided was minimal. I’d requested the super king bed to be made up as singles and had been told that that would be done but it wasn’t. 2 of the bedroom blinds need repairing as they cannot be opened , once closed. The general cleanliness was ok however in the single bedroom it was very dusty and the bin still had rubbish in it including pill packets and I began to wonder if the bedding had been changed after the previous occupant. Lastly the welcome letter needs updating as it talks about a welcome pack that includes 2 packets of locally sourced coffee and there was no such pack or items, only a few teabags on the window sill. These things did not spoil our enjoyment but I wanted to bring them to your attention or you will remain unaware .

Mrs Carol F,

It is a lovely house in a wonderful, peaceful location and close to the Wales Coast Path, the reason for our visit. However on arrival, the twin bedroom had not been made up and there was cleaning equipment left on one of the beds. We could not find clean sheets to put on either bed so we 'made do'. There was mold on one of the mattresses in a double bedroom, and blood stains, not ideal. The blinds are also of poor quality, several are barely hanging on and the plastic draw-strings rip free of there socket when pulled.

Mr Stephen B,

Accommodation was very good and it was a well equipped kitchen. Seemed a bit expensive for out of season. Lack of items such as hand wash in bathrooms & kitchen, one toilet roll per bathroom, one dishwasher tablet, firewood for one fire all seemed very penny pinching considering the cost of the property. Other properties we have stayed in have included sufficient of these items for the full stay. Property needed to be dusted, tv didn’t work for basic channels, grill pans in cooker weren’t cleaned, kitchen tap dripped.
