Holiday Cottages in Rhossili

Rhossili Bay; known for it's sweeping views and The 'iconic' Worm - famously photographed. Named the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and flooding in history, this area is extremely popular with holiday makers and locals alike.

Located to the far west of Gower are Rhossili and Middleton, two hamlets that offer visitors a great location from which to explore western Gower – especially on foot.

While both are picturesque and very near to one another, they both have immediate access to the dramatic cliff-top walks, beaches and viewpoints synonymous with this part of the world.

For those that have visited Rhossili, two landmarks will certainly stand out – Worms Head and the multi-award winning Rhossili Bay.

The Worm sits at the far end of Gower and can be accessed at low-tide and is a fun place to explore but be mindful of the tide times, so you don’t get trapped! The route along the cliff top path to the worm is scenic, easy walking and is a wonderful route to take your dog – just keep them on a leash as there are usually sheep grazing in the area.

At the top of Rhossili sits a large pay and display car park run by the National Trust alongside recently refurbished W/C’s and shower facilities, frequently used by the hundreds of surfers who visit the area from around the world to ride the waves at Rhossili Bay.

Located at the foot of the cliffs, the walk down to the bay is certainly easier than the walk back up but there are multiple benches on which to rest and the majority of the path is concrete.

The 3-mile-long stretch of beach is regularly voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the world, and it’s easy to see why.  Golden sands, dramatic views and at low tide, there are the remains of shipwrecks to explore such as the Helvetia and several others.

At the top of the path back to the car park is the Worms Head Hotel, a great place for a bite to eat or a refreshing drink and for those visiting in the summer, the courtyard is a great place to sit down with a loved one and watch one of the best sunsets in Wales, if not the world.
