Description

'Shambles' is centrally located in the village of Llanmadoc close to one of Gower's most popular and traditional inns, The Britannia, which has an excellent restaurant and a bar serving real ales. The beer garden has a children's play area and boasts stunning views across the Loughor Estuary.

Across the road from the property there is also a fantastic village shop and cafe, providing you with the opportunity of buying fresh groceries and provisions, whilst enjoying a cup of tea and one of their delightful homemade cakes.

There are some beautiful and scenic walks which can be enjoyed in the area including Whiteford Lighthouse, Whiteford Sands and Broughton Bay, which are quiet, and both beaches are dog friendly all year round. You can also take a stroll around a newly developed salt marsh at Cwm Ivy and see what wildlife you can encounter.

In summary 'Shambles' is a comfortable house perfectly located for a rural getaway, close to the beaches of North and South Gower.

Mr S,

Excellent location, helpful hosts and well equipped dog friendly accommodation. We would recommend and also book again, top class!

Mr M,

A light and spacious pet friendly house in a pleasant small village with excellent local facilities close to spectacular countryside ideal for walking and exploring. On site parking, community shop and friendly pub are all close by.

Mr De C,

We can't think of anything missing; well equipped. A great base to explore Gower. Everything was perfect. The beautiful garden was an added bonus.

Past Customer,

Overal, very happy with the cottage, location, views were excellent. Couple of points about cottage - would benefit from some more comfortable garden furniture to sit on. Rusty table & chairs of no use (owners did inform us about these prior to arrival). Garden furniture & patio area generally needed some attention. Garden not totally dog safe, only patio area. Chicken wire needed across main gate onto the road. Grill pan was dirty/greasy & we were unable use it, we left it as we found it.

Mrs Valerie S,

The property is very well maintained, furnished and equipped. It is warm and comfortable. The owner communicates regularly with guests, and keeps them informed of any problems, issues, etc. Beautiful location with stunning views. The property really does feel like home!

Mrs Janet C,

Hope to return next year as we loved the house, community and shop. Lynda and Paul

We’ve had a lovely time in your beautiful house. Jan and David

Past Customer,

We loved or stay at Shambles which was the perfect holiday cottage for us and our dog. The cottage was comfortable clean, well equipped and catered for all our holiday needs. Surprisingly for mid October we enjoyed the late afternoon sun on the patio and the well kept secure garden was an added bonus. The location was perfect for our week exploring the Gower. The fact that there was an excellent community shop, post office and cafe directly opposite solved any shopping problems. The volunteers and locals were friendly, helpful and there was a never ending supply of lhomemade produce. The sweet potato pasties and spicy carrot cake are highly recommended. Cwm Ivy, another local cafe with homemade cakes, was a good pit stop at the beginning and end of some of our walks. The Britannia Inn was dog friendly with reasonable pub food and a good atmosphere, although very busy on a nice autumn weekend. We will return to the Gower next year and hope that we can use Shambles as our base again.

Mrs Lynda F,

Location

Llanmadoc is a small unspoilt village, nestling on the north tip of the Gower Peninsular. It has breathtaking views across to the Pembrokshire coastline and the Preseli Mountains.
