WWT National Wetland Centre Wales (Llwynhendy) A great family day out with hundreds of the worlds most spectacular birds to see.  Learn about wetland conservation and enjoy a canoe safari, bike trail, pond dipping and children’s activities.

Dylan Thomas Boathouse (Laugharne) Where Dylan Thomas spent the last four years of his life and now a tribute and memorial to the writer. Visual presentations, books, tearoom.

Heritage sites such as Dolaucothi Goldmines and Dinefwr Park and Castle (Llandeilo) 12th Century Welsh Castle 18th century designed lanscape park, way marked walks with outstanding views and Newton House dressed circa 1912 with a new exhibition telling the story of Dinefwr.

National Botanic Garden of Wales (Llanarthne) Spectacular glasshouse displaying plants from around the world. Award winning gardens, exhibitions and displays, shop, licensed restaurant, plant sales. Breathtaking 560 acre estate. Aberglasney Gardens(Llagathen) one of the country’s most exciting garden restoration projects. The garden has been transformed into a ‘Plantsmans Paradise.

Enjoy the wonderful views around Carmarthenshire by taking either an authentic stream train ride on the Gwili Railway or visit the Towy valley and Carmarthenshire on the Heart of Wales Line or  hop aboard the Sospan Hopper land train and see Llanelli’s Millennium Coastal Park. Llanelli is the hub of two long traffic free paths adding up to 27 miles in length. Ideal for cycling and walking.

Since the announcement that Wales will host the 2010 Ryder Cup, all eyes have been on Welsh golf.  And they like what they see.  More and more enthusiasts are discoverying the world –class golf on offer here.  Wales offers something unique: ‘golf as it should be’.  It’s what the ture game has always been about – golf played on a friendly, accessible courses in an unstuffy, welcoming atmosphere.  Machynys Peninsula Golf & County Club named best new course. Designed by Gary Nicklaus. A thoroughly moden eighteen hole course, of which sixteen involve shots over or alongside water.  It is the stunning setting of Machynys, overlooking Carmarthen Bay and out over the Gower Peninsula.  The salt marshes, Loughor Estuary that are the natural neighbors of the course are both quietly beautiful.
