Sailing

Gower is a fantastic coastline for sailing with the sweeping arc that is Swansea Bay, an impressive marina serving a variety of craft and vessels and plenty of pretty coves and beaches. Euphoria Sailing has bases in both the Marina and Oxwich Bay, offering training and hire facilities. Dinghy sailing is by the hour or there are complete RYA courses and the chance to chart the seas on a 43” luxury yacht complete with skipper. Powerboating, waterskiing, donut riding and kayaking are also on the menu. The Marina-based Swansea Watersports and Rainbow Sailing also offer accredited tuition for individuals, families and groups of friends of all levels of experience.

Surfing

Whether complete beginner or seasoned expert, there are plenty of fabulous surfing beaches to choose from as well as tuition and hire shops. GSD, a member of the British Surfing Association, runs courses for all levels of ability at Caswell and Rhossili as well as indoor lessons on the Boardrider at the LC Swansea.Progress Surf provides lessons at Caswell and Llangennith, an incredible beach for all manor of watersports and home to the Welsh Surfing Federation Surf School (www.wsfsurfschool.co.uk), a non profit making set up.

Paddle Surfing, Wake Boarding & Kite Riding

There’s a new wave of water sports to be had on Gower; fun, adrenaline pumping activities. Stand up and be counted by trying your hand at Paddle Surfing. Lessons are available at Oxwich Bay from www.paddlesurfadventures.co.uk, www.supgower.com and through www.gowake.co.uk which also provides Cable Wake Boarding tuition from the safety of an SA1 development dock - the first single line wake park in South Wales. Kite Riding is also extremely challenging and great fun with lessons and courses available throughout the Gower through Gower Kite Riders , the only accredited BKSA Kiteschool on the peninsula.
