The bustling seaside village of Mumbles with its cafes, galleries and boutiques sits at the southern tip of Swansea Bay some five miles from the centre of Swansea.
Gateway to the Gower, cosmopolitan Mumbles has something for everyone all within walking distance. Independent shops offer everything from fashion to surfing gear, Welsh love spoons, seafood, continental charcuterie and handmade chocolates.
Cafes and restaurants are also plentiful, many serving local fish and seafood caught daily.
A promenade and cycle path runs all the way from Swansea to Mumbles landmark Victorian pier. En route is the Lido at Blackpill, a safe haven for children to play on the beach, by the pool, or on its many playground attractions.
Further along the promenade in Oystermouth is a plethora of leisure and entertainment options including a Norman castle, amusements, tennis courts and childrens play ground, all overlooking a stunning arc of bay.
There are bars, bistros and ice cream parlours including Verdis and Joes.
At the headland is Mumbles Offshore Lifeboat plus a host of family attractions and a sheltered beach. Beyond, Mumbles Lighthouse stands proud facing the coves of Bracelet Bay and Limeslade. Castellamare, an Italian restaurant has spectacular views out to sea, and a childrens playground complete with pirate ship.
For more beautiful beaches take a short stroll along a coastal path to Rotherslade, a sandy cove, and Langland, a pretty stretch of sandy beach with rock pools, surf, wooden beach huts and palm trees.
